HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 cc515-6W
Mr. Proctor

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report the allocation of funds for the health service in the Basildon and Thurrock health district in each of the last five years expressed at constant prices.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

[pursuant to his reply, 11 May 1984, c. 499]: The revenue allocations to Basildon and Thurrock health district by the former Essex area health authority in 1980–81 and 1981–82 are not centrally available. The revenue allocations by North-East Thames regional health authority to Basildon and Thurrock health authority for 1982–83, 1983–84 and 1984–85 are set out below in cash terms. These figures cannot be translated into constant prices in a way that would be sensible because of changes between 1982–83 and 1983–84 in the services for which the health authority was responsible following the 1982 reorganisation.

(£' 000' s)
1982–83 39,142.1
1983–84 42,110.7
1984–85 43,414.0

Notes:

  1. 1. Allocations for joint finance and non-recurring adjustments are not included.
  2. 2. Capital allocations are not shown as only a small amount is allocated on a District basis.
  3. 3. Allocations do not include the district's shares of services provided directly by the RHA such as salaries of senior medical staff.
