§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what guidance has been issued to the adjudication officer at the child benefit centre with regard to those cases referred to him by local offices of his Department as a result of DHSS circular S21/84; and if he will place a copy of that guidance in the Library.
§ Mr. NewtonThis is a matter for the chief adjudication officer. I understand that he has decided not to issue new guidance to the adjudication officers at the child benefit centre and that any cases referred by local offices will therefore be considered in the light of the established guidance.
