§ Mr. Nicholas Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce legislation to require the employees of municipal housing departments to register their private sector financial interests and any other relationships which could conflict with the exercise of their public duties.
§ Sir George YoungMy right hon. Friend has no plans to do so. Existing legislation, the arrangements for audit and the conditions of service of employees in local government taken together provide adequate safeguards.
