§ Mr. Ian StewartIn 1982, which is the latest year for which figures exist, net financial flows from developed countries and multilateral organisations to developing countries are estimated to have totalled almost $110 billion. This consisted of $51 billion in private commercial capital flows, $26 billion in official development assistance, $23 billion in official or officially-supported loans, $7 billion in IMF net lending, and $2 billion in grants by private voluntary agencies.
