HC Deb 14 May 1984 vol 60 c74W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now make a further statement about the pensioners and others in the city of Manchester awaiting designation of their homes as hard-to-heat; and how many homes have been so designated since the matter was first raised with him by the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe.

Dr. Boyson

Since the right hon. Member raised the matter with me last December, four blocks in the Wythenshawe area were designated by the Secretary of State as disproportionately expensive to heat on 15 March 1984 and a further 11 blocks in the Wythenshawe area were so designated on 30 April. Other properties in the Wythenshawe area are under consideration and a decision will be made on these properties as soon as possible. The number of dwellings and the number of tenants receiving supplementary benefit in these properties is not known.
