§ Mr. ButcherMy Department's equal opportunity officer, a principal in personnel management division, was designated by the principal establishment and finance officer on 5 January 1984. The equal opportunity officer is responsible for equal opportunity matters as they concern sex discrimination as well as race. He is responsible for co-ordinating the policy of nondiscrimination and acts as a focal point for the promulgation and monitoring of equal opportunities policies and for the provision of information and advice to management, individual members of staff and the departmental trade union side.
