HC Deb 14 May 1984 vol 60 c74W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the several types of therapy currently being tried for acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

Treatment and therapy for a patient with AIDS is a matter of clinical judgment and would depend on the presenting symptoms. As there is no specific treatment, therapies currently available could include antibiotics to combat specific infections, other chemotherapy, radiotherapy and, of course, any other appropriate care.
