asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the planned frequency of future publication of long—term public expenditure and taxation assumptions, following the publication on last Budget day of the first Green Paper, Cmnd. 9189.

Mr. Lawson

The Green Paper, Cmnd 9189, was published as a contribution to the current debate on public expenditure and taxation in the longer term and the assumptions referred to are an integral part of it. I have no present plans to update and publish such assumptions on a regular basis.
