However, the Construction Industry Training Board estimates that about 240W 15,000 craft and technician trainees have been recruited to its model schemes under the youth training scheme. This training may lead on to apprenticeship training in the construction industry. In addition, young people are receiving training in construction skills on other programmes supported under the youth training scheme and through apprenticeship schemes operated outside the youth training scheme.
