asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement assessing the effect of the recent European Economic Community agricultural price agreement on Welsh agriculture.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

The common agricultural policy price agreement for 1984–85 is a tough, but fair, settlement for Welsh and United Kingdom producers. Moreover, it contains positive measures for limiting the increasing costs of the CAP and the growth of unwanted food surpluses.
