§ Mr. Rookerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give details of size, tonnage, use and ownership of the 70 vehicles in Northern Ireland on which the excise duty will be increased as a result of the Finance (No. 2) Bill by 19 per cent.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 30 April 1984, c. 22]: Details of vehicles registered in Northern Ireland are kept manually, and the estimate of 70 haulage vehicles whose rates of vehicle excise duty will be increased by 19 118W per cent. was obtained by means of a statistical sampling exercise. I regret that the information requested could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
