§ Mr. MacGregorThe United Kingdom imports a wide range of food commodities, details of which are contained in the United Kingdom Overseas Trade Statistics. Information about the main commodities produced domestically, including broad estimates of self sufficiency, is summarised in the Annual Review of Agriculture 1984 (Cmnd 9137) Tables 8 to 18. Stocks of the various food commodities are held throughout the world by both public and commercial bodies but complete information about these and the amounts that would be available for the United Kingdom to purchase, is not readily available.
