asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the latest figures of the cost of the United Kingdom's food imports.

Mr. MacGregor

The cost of imports of food, less re-exports, was £6 billion in 1982. The provisional estimate for 1983 is about £6.5 billion.
