§ Mrs. Beckettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will defer making a decision about the destruction of the files of former unemployed supplementary benefit claimants until the results of the current advertising campaign have been reported to the House.
§ Dr. BoysonThe renewed advertising campaign began on 18 March. I have already announced that local offices will continue to suspend destruction of old files for another three months after this campaign. After that, we will resume the normal destruction of records unless they are needed for other reasons.
