asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what has been the life expectancy of (a) males and (b) females in Northern Ireland in each of the past 10 years.

Life expectancy figures for a particular year are calculated over that year and the two preceding years. The information for the last ten years for which figures are available is as follows:
