HC Deb 28 March 1984 vol 57 c189W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many people who (a) enjoy diplomatic immunity and (b) are the spouses or dependent children aged over 17 years of people enjoying such immunity, are, where relevant, insured to drive motor cars.

Mr. Whitney

There are 4,933 persons in the United Kingdom enjoying diplomatic immunity plus an estimated 14,000 spouses or dependent members of family. We have no means of knowing how many of these are insured to drive motor vehicles.
