Mr. William Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many youth training scheme places have (a) been filled and (b) remain vacant in Northamptonshire and in the Corby area at the last convenient date.

At the end of February, 2.001 youth training scheme places were filled in the county of Northamptonshire, and 374 places were filled in Corby. About 1,740 places in Northamptonshire and 268 places in Corby were unfilled at the same date.

Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether any litigation is pending against him concerning accidents to trainees under the youth training scheme; and what stage such litigation has reached.
