asked the Secretary of State for Wales what percentage change there has beenbetween 1979 and 1983 in the number of (a) doctors and dentists, and (b) nurses and midwives in Wales.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The numbers of doctors and dentists employed by health authorities in Wales rose by 10.2 per cent. between 1979 and 1983; the increase for nurses and midwives is 12.8 per cent.
