Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what, for the year 1984–85, are the likely payments to Lambeth council for (a) rate support grant, (b) housing subsidy and (c) inner city partnership.

Following is the information:

  1. (a) £49.170 million block grant—assuming that all local authorities spend at the level of their expenditure guidance—plus £4.929 million domestic rate relief grant (latest estimate);
  2. (b) it is not possible to forecast Lambeth's housing subsidy entitlement until the council submits a claim to the Department (all authorities were asked to submit claims by 31 March);
  3. (c) £13.5 million (provisional allocation of urban programme grant).
