48. Mr. O'Brien

asked the Secretary of State for Employment when he will meet the chairman of the Manpower Services Commission to discuss implementation of the proposals in the White Paper, "Training for Jobs".

My right hon. Friend and I are in frequent contact with the chairman of the Manpower Services Commission to discuss matters relating to the commission's work. These now include the implementation of the policies set out in our recent White Paper "Training for Jobs"—Cmnd. 9135.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what representations he has so far received from Southampton in response to the recent White Paper, "Training for Jobs".
