Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if the briefing for British delegates to the Council of Europe Conference "North-South: Europe's Role," on 9 to 11 April will include reference to population issues.

Mr. Whitney

The briefing will deal with the main themes of the conference as adopted by the organising committee last year. One of these concerns aspects of population issues; appropriate briefing will be arranged.
