§ Mr. Wareingasked the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts what progress has been made towards the establishment of an art gallery on the south docks site in Liverpool.
§ Mr. WaldegraveI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the proposal made by the trustees of the Tate Gallery in association with the Merseyside Development Corporation for the establishment of a northern centre for the Tate Gallery situated on the old Albert dock site in Liverpool. The Government are considering the proposal in the light of the feasibility study commissioned by the Tate Gallery in 1982 and the resources available for building work generally at the national museums and galleries.
