Action to promote exports is primarily the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, who sponsors the railway manufacturing industry. However, my right hon. and hon. Friends and I stand ready to respond to requests to give active support to the export efforts of the United Kingdom railway industry, including British Rail Engineering Ltd.
