Member for South Ribble (Mr. Atkins) on 2 March, Official Report, column 356, when the Minister for the Arts intends to reach a long-term agreement with the National Maritime museum on the use of its retained proceeds; and whether he will give an indication of the types of expenditure which the museum would not be allowed to incur.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe longer-term arrangements for the National Maritime museum will depend on the outcome of the review of the existing net vote and re-vote system for the national museums and galleries generally. The aim is to introduce any changes in this system from 1985–86. I cannot predict exactly what changes will be made or when they will be announced.
