§ Mr. Neil Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Tatton, Official Report, 21 December 1983, column 265, if he will make a reasoned response to the Associated Octel's Company Ltd's assessment of the ninth report of the Royal Commission on environmental pollution, "Lead in the Environment".
§ Mr. WaldegraveI met the managing director of the Associated Octel Company last September. Since then I have written to the company on three occasions in response to letters and other documentation from it rehearsing its arguments. I am sending copies of the correspondence to my hon. Friend. There is nothing that I can usefully add to it at this stage.
