§ Sir George YoungI am not aware of any local authorities in England who have suspended grants under the homes insulation scheme. All the initial bids from local authorities for capital allocations for insulation grants in the current financial year were met in full. My Department has since appoved applications from 49 authorities to transfer some £1.3 million from their housing investment programme allocations to increase the funds available for grants in their areas.
In addition authorities are now able to authorise applications in relation to which grant will be funded from their 1984–5 allocations.
