§ Mr. NewtonComprehensive information about waiting lists at NHS hearing aid centres is not held centrally, but on the basis of the available figures for 29 February 1984 it is estimated that some 25,800 outpatients in England and Wales were waiting to have a hearing aid fitted or exchanged.
