§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, further to the answer on 24 February, Official Report, column 664, concerning export unit values and producer prices, whether the higher unit value for motor vehicles represents a shift to exports of more expensive vehicles.
§ Mr. ChannonSuch a shift could, but would not necessarily, produce this effect. Another possible cause would be bigger increases in exports sales prices than in home sales prices. It would not be practical to establish what was the dominant cause.
