(2) further to his reply to the hon. Member for Holborn and St. Pancras on 7 March, Official Report, column 625, if he will list for each staff group the numbers in that group who retired between the ages of 50 and 55, 55 and 60 and over 60 years of age.

§ Mr. Kenneth Clarke135 officers who had been prematurely retired following the 1982 restructuring were recorded as being re-employed in the NHS at 31 October 1983. The breakdown by staff groups and regions is as follows:

§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWhile some of those who have been granted premature retirement had as part of their duties the management of community care services, it is not possible to identify these from the information held centrally. The information could be obtained by specific and detailed inquiries from the former employing health authorities only at disproportionate cost.
