asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people have died from causes related to drugs in Liverpool and Merseyside in each of the past five years.

The following table shows separately numbers of deaths where the underlying cause was drug dependence, non-dependent abuse of drugs, accidental poisoning and other forms of misuse. It relates to persons usually resident in Liverpool and elsewhere in Merseyside.
