asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the current rate of unemployment in the Thurnscoe, Goldthorpe and Highgate employment areas

The Goldthorpe jobcentre area; which includes Thurnscoe and Highgate, is part of the Mexborough travel-to-work area. Percentage rates of unemployment are calculated for complete travel-to-work areas only and not for their constituent parts. On 9 February, the rate of unemployment in the Mexborough travel-to-work area was 22–8 per cent.
