Mr. Corbett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what, at the latest convenient date, was the number of redundancies notified in Erdington, Birmingham; and how this compares with the same month in each of the preceding three years.

Twenty-three redundancies were confirmed as due to occur* in the Erdington jobcentre area in November 1983, the latest month for which final figures are available. This compares with none in November 1982, 66 in November 1981 and 344 in November 1980.
