HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 cc442-3W
Mr. Mason

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food why he will not call for reports from the Yorkshire water authority about poaching activities on the River Esk, the reasons for the low salmon count in 1983 and on its statutory duties to maintain, improve and develop the salmon fisheries in its area as required under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. MacGregor

I am rot aware of any evidence that would justify my doing so. If the right hon. Member has specific points to make relating to the Yorkshire water authority's management of the fisheries, he may like to put them to the authority direct or to me so that I may do so.
