HC Deb 01 March 1984 vol 55 c317W
Mr. Nicholson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what percentage of imported milk from the Irish Republic to Northern Ireland has been tested to date by the Department's laboratories on entry.

Mr. Butler

The only milk which may be imported into Northern Ireland for direct human consumption is UHT and sterilised milk. No such milk has entered Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland since the Importation of Milk Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1983 came into operation and consequently no tests have been carried out.
