Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many of the recommendations of the Northern Ireland Assembly which he has (a) decided to reject and (b) decided to accept were in respect of security matters.

Mr. Prior

[pursuant to his reply, 28 February 1984, c. 144]: None. My answer of 23 February, at column 961, to the question from the hon. Member for Belfast, East (Mr. Robinson) related to recommendations contained in the formal reports of the Assembly arising from the work of its six departmental committees. None of these recommendations related to security. But I take careful note of the views on security issues expressed by the Assembly in plenary session; and also of the representations made by the Security and Home Affairs Committee at meetings with Ministers.
