HC Deb 26 June 1984 vol 62 cc391-2W
Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will introduce further measures to ensure that occupation and opportunity will be afforded to all young people who complete their one year's experience in the youth training scheme both in 1984 and in 1985.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Young people on the youth training scheme receive high-quality training and work experience which should help them take advantage of subsequent employment and training opportunities.

Recently introduced changes to the young workers scheme, which focuses its support more clearly on 17-year-olds, will help employers provide more jobs for those completing their training under the youth training scheme.
