§ Mr. Skeetasked the Prime Minister whether Her Majesty's Government favour the establishment of a regime for the control of Antarctica or for the enlargement of the Antarctica treaty of 1959.
§ The Prime MinisterWe believe that the maintenance and development of the Antarctic treaty system is the right way to manage Antarctic activities. The agreements which constitute this system are open to accession by any member of the United Nations.
