HC Deb 21 June 1984 vol 62 c233W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce legislation to require a borough council to modify its unitary development plans to take account of objections from neighbouring boroughs, if the Greater London council is abolished.

Mr. Macfarlane

No. However, neighbouring boroughs will be free to make objections to a unitary development plan when it is placed on deposit or at a public local inquiry. The local planning authority may then, if it thinks fit, modify its plan to take account of such objections and representations.
