HC Deb 21 June 1984 vol 62 cc259-60W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the incidence of myocardial infarction in Scotland in each of the past 10 years.

Mr. John MacKay

The information available centrally does not provide reliable data about the incidence

Mr. Dewar

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many people were employed in the electronics industry in Scotland in 1979 and at the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Younger

Census of employment estimates are available only for 1978 and 1981 and, on the basis of the 1968 Standard Industrial Classification, were 37,300 and 38,300 respectively. Employment in mid-1983 is estimated by my Department to have been over 40,000.
