§ 63. Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many recent cases of discrimination against disabled people have been reported to him; what action he has been able to take; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NewtonSince the reply I gave to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe (Mr. Morris) on 15 March 1984 at column271, two further cases have been received, bringing the total since February 1983 to 24. Of these two, one, concerning employment, is still being investigated. The other, concerning access, has been concluded without evidence of discrimination being found. The hon. Member has also written to me enclosing press reports of two alleged discrimination cases, about which I have written to him today.
