§ Sir George YoungOn 1 April 1984, 115 permanent civil servants were employed at the Fire Research Station (Compared with 136 at 1 April 1983. 11 staff and their complement for compiling fire statistics were transferred to the Home Office on 1 April 1984).
The income obtained in the 1983–84 financial year from Industry and private funding for sponsored research, special testing, advisory services, and miscellaneous sales including publications was £108,598.
