§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to the demolition work in progress, or planned, by the London Docklands development corporation in that portion of the royal docks owned by the corporation; and if the corporation has informed the London borough of Newham or local residents of the purpose of any such demolition.
§ Sir George YoungThe corporation wrote to both the London borough of Newham and the Docklands Forum on 9 December 1983 informing them that LDDC intended to demolish certain unusable tin sheds, some of which were in a dangerous state, together with a number of small brick buildings. This demolition work is still in progress. No decisions have been taken about the possibility of further demolitions in the Royal Victoria dock, where studies are under way on the usefulness of the remaining buildings.
