HL Deb 05 June 1984 vol 452 c613WA
The Earl of Lauderdale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many Land Rovers in good repair were available to the armed forces respectively in Scotland and within 50 miles of Edinburgh on 19th May 1984.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces (Lord Trefgarne)

The information requested is not held in the precise form specified and could only be provided at disproportionate cost. However, we estimate that there were some 930 services' Land Rovers in Scotland in May, of which about 620 were based within 50 miles of Edinburgh. Most of these were in serviceable condition.
