§ Mr. MacGregorA grant towards expenditure incurred before 1 April 1984 on installing pasteurisation equipment has been available to producers who retail their own untreated milk and wish to switch to selling pasteurised milk. Other new producer processors have not been eligible for payments under this scheme, which was introduced in December 1980 and is now expiring.
§ Mr. Macleanasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the granting of new producer processor licences where the producer is engaged in export of dairy produce.
§ Mr. MacGregorUnder the Food and Drugs Act 1955 sections 35 to 37 and the Milk (Special Designation) Regulations 1977 as amended a producer processor must obtain from his local authority a licence to use the designation "Pasteurised", "Sterilised" or "Ultra Heat Treated" in respect of his domestic sales of heat treated milk, unless of course his entire production of heat treated milk is sold for export.
