§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many payments have been made under table 2, part A, of the Pneumoconiosis (Workers' Compensation) Act 1979.
§ Mr. GummerAs at 30 April 1984, 1,082 payments had been made to the dependants of deceased sufferers. Table 2, part A provides for an additional payment where the sufferer died as a result of the disease. The number of such additional payments could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many payments under the Pneumoconiosis (Workers' Compensation) Act 1979 were made for each of the percentage assessments 10 per cent. or less, 11 to 20 per cent., 21 to 30 per cent., 40 per cent. and 50 per cent. and over, respectively.
§ Mr. GummerAs at 30 April, 4,428 payments had been made of which 3,346 were to sufferers and 1,082 to dependents. I regret that an analysis in terms of percentage assessment could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
