§ Mr. RifkindWe welcome the progress towards withdrawal of South African troops from Angola. We have also noted recent contacts between the Governments of South Africa and Angola and the United States, and between the South West Africa People's Organisation and the Namibian Internal Parties. We welcome these and hope there will be early progress towards implementation of Security Council resolution 435. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister made this clear to the South African Prime Minister at her meeting with him on 2 June.
