HL Deb 04 June 1984 vol 452 c481WA
Lord Houghton of Sowerby

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What additional funds are being provided for National Health Service hospitals to meet the extra cost of induced multiple births.

Lord Glenarthur

No resources are allocated specifically to health authorities in relation to multiple births. In determining the appropriate level of provision for maternity and related services, health authorities recognise that there will be a number of multiple births, whether natural or as the result of certain forms of infertility treatment.
