§ Mrs. ChalkerThe Department makes no forecasts for coach traffic alone. The Department carries out forecasts of road traffic for the purpose of evaluating trunk road schemes. Buses and coaches together constitute only slightly over 1 per cent. of all traffic and the 1980 national road traffic forecasts, based on 1978 traffic levels, assumed on the basis of past trends no increase compared to 1978 in the level of bus and coach traffic up to 2005.
