asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Government will consider giving additional aid in the fields of medicine and in drought relief.

Though our food aid programme is a fixed total each year, I am ready to consider the provision of additional emergency disaster and drought relief aid, as I did last financial year, as necessary to help try to meet some of the needs.
