§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, following the decision of the court in the appeal by Geoffrey Mycock who was convicted on the evidence of Dr. Alan Clift he will publish the report by Miss Christine Pereira of September 1978 relating to the evidence submitted in criminal cases by Dr. Alan Clift.
§ Mr. HurdNo. This was a preliminary, internal report prepared by the director of the Aldermaston forensic science laboratory to the then controller of the Forensic Science Service for the purposes of considering whether Dr. Clift should be retired prematurely. It would be inappropriate to publish this document, which refers to 587W police investigations and contains the names of suspects and victims. The conclusions of the report were fully summarised in paragraph 17 of the report by the Parliamentary Commissioner.
§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, following the decision of the court in the appeal by Geoffrey Mycock who was convicted on the evidence of Dr. Alan Clift, he will review his decision not to impose any financial penalty on Dr. Clift's early retirement pension.
